SNN:- In a sensational match being played in New Delhi today (Sunday), India’s Olympic silver medalist shuttler PV Sindhu defeated Carolina Marin in women’s single to clinch her maiden India Open Badminton title. Sindhu defeated Marin in straight sets. The final score of the match was 21-19, 21-16 in 47 minutes.
Sindhu dominated throughout the match as Marin tried hard to defend herself with erratic smashes. Her left-handed smashes were easily blocked by the Indian shuttler.
Earlier, Sindhu had defeated Saina Nehwal and second seed Sung Ji Hyun by 21-18’14-21, 21-14.
